Our Vision For The Future

The Mustard Seed Academy

Dedicated to empowering the lives of children, young adults and families in the Foster Care system by helping them thrive in their transition into adulthood through guided training, love and compassion.

What is Aging out?

When children placed in foster care reach the maximum age that a state will support them (18 – 21) without being reunited with family or being placed in a permanent home, it’s called aging out.

Kids who age out are often sent out of their foster homes the day they turn 18 without any resources. Most have no supportive adult to help them navigate the challenges of transitioning to independent living. Everyone needs a family and a home, even when they turn 18.

That lack of stability and social support is what leads to many youth falling into the many problems listed below in the statistics. Not only this but without healing, their attempts at success get sabotaged by the trauma they’ve experienced.

Why Breaking Cycles For Aging Out Foster Children Matters

Foster youth face adverse consequences when it comes to education — for a multitude of reasons. These include switching foster care placements, losing transcripts, lacking familial support, and lacking educational resources.

Despite all of the challenges, 70% of foster kids regularly say that they WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND COLLEGE one day

Blueprint For Success

Are you passionate about supporting foster families and promoting sustainable agriculture?

The Mustard Seed NV is an innovative turn-key aeroponic farm that is dedicated to providing premium quality, nutrition-rich fruits, vegetables, herbs, and microgreens to foster families year-round. By utilizing aeroponic farming methods, we are able to provide fresh produce in a sustainable and efficient way.

However, our future vision extends beyond just farming. Our goal is to create the Mustard Seed Academy, an educational forum that focuses on providing life skills, basic culinary skills, computer training, financial literacy, and automotive training to aging out foster kids. By investing in education and breaking cycles, we can create a brighter future for these individuals.
